What do you think about when you’re alone?
Are your thoughts positive? Negative? Do you get bored?
Something I’ve been thinking a lot about recently is what happens when you have the freedom to do the things you want to do when you want to do them.
Sure there’s always going to be some sort of limitation: time, money, health.
Generally speaking, let’s say you have the ability to do the things that you want to be doing when you want to.
What do you do?
For me, it’s to read, write, share stories, and build communities.
Over the past few months, I’ve been fortunate to have the time and space to do the things I want to do when I want to do them.
For the most part, I find myself falling back to the activities I mentioned above.
It’s natural for me to want to do the things that bring me joy but what about the activities I dread?
What if I spent some time chipping away at those insecurities?
Facing the fears that only exist in my mind.
For me, this includes: learning to code.
I’ve been dragging my feet when it comes to learning to code for too long.
Every time I’ve had the opportunity to learn I chose the comfortable alternative.
Enough is enough.
It’s time to get uncomfortable. It’s time to do the thing that I wish I had started doing earlier.
There is no wishing, life’s too short.
Is there something you’ve been dragging your feet with?
Well, I implore you to take the step in the right direction or at least ask yourself what’s stopping you?
